From the Place Saint-Amé, head down towards the Scarpe river and take the Rue du Pont des Dominicains on your right. Following the river, you will head to Lambres-lez-Douai and even as far as the lock of Courchelettes. A bucolic rural area where you will mix with joggers, cyclists and dog walkers.
Go to the small wooden bridge on the left bank of the Scarpe. This path leads to the Scarpe diversion canal and downstream to Douai. At the Esquerchin bridge, turn right onto the street of the same name which returns you to the Place Saint-Amé.
The loop is approximately 8km long.
