Théâtre de Douai
Theatre
in Douai
-
The theater of Douai opened its doors in 1785. The interior presents an Italian room in the shape of a horseshoe. In 1813-1814, the room and the stage sets were repainted by Ciceri, decorator for the Paris Opera. The ceiling painted by Maurice Rogerol in 1925 represents a tribute to Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, poetess from Douais.
